Crossed Swords

Due to land on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on 18 February, this new adventure will push players more used to performing savage executions to help Miriam find her way home. Taking on a range of challenges, both main players in both games will crawl the darkest dungeons culling anything that stands in their way and performing some precise platforming to collect crystal shards and repair Miriam’s portal home.

Alongside this dangerous new quest, players who complete the main quest line in this collaborative add on will unlock an extra gruesome boss rush mode. Pushing the challenge up to new levels of difficulty, this brand new boss rush features contains a selection of bosses that players take on using any of their existing save files. In the end, you can expect to be scored, so only the toughest can expect to top the leader board.

The Strife and Ruin update isn’t all about brutal monster bashing. There’s something a little fun for fans of both Blasphemous and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Gamers with an inkling for old school platformers will enjoy the new Demake area that throws the Penitent One back into the era of 8-bit retro gaming, adding a new challenge, an appropriately old school look, and even dropping some new render modes for the rest of the game.
