Boss Key Productions Is No More

Cliff Bleszinski, the co-founder of Boss Key Productions, has announced via Twitter that the company is closing down. According to his statement, the developers have worked tirelessly to produce quality games, but LawBreakers didn’t manage to gain traction. And, while Radical Heights was well-received, it was too little too late.

As for myself, I’m going to take some time off and reflect. I need to focus on myself and family as well as my Aussie, Teddy, who is slowly fading from us. Video games will forever be a part of who I am and I hope to make something new again someday, however, I need to withdraw and take this time.

The community’s reaction to the announcement is mixed. Some fans are genuinely upset and admit to looking forward to Bleszinski’s return, while others mock the company and the developers.

It seems the news was shocking not only to the fans of the studio but also to at least some of its employees. A half hour before Bleszinski’s announcement, Ron LaJoie promised a female character to the fans. Sometime after he had taken his words back, noting “no female ever”.
