Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Japan’s Happinet has announced it will arrive on 25 June.

Part of a long-running RPG franchise, Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia, is a tactical RPG title that takes place in the land of Runersia. Players who jump into this game can pick up the tactical RPG from the 25 June via the Nintendo eShop or in person via a special physical edition. Limited Run Games are assisting with this boxed edition and will mean that US gamers can grab the first title in the Brigandine range to step into battle in 20 years.

Guess Who’s Back

The very first Brigandine hit consoles back in 1998 and after some time away, the franchise now returns with the help of scenario writer, Kenji Terada (Batman: Dark Tomorrow, FINAL FANTASY I – III), art director and character designer, Raita Kazama (Puzzle & Dragons, Xenoblade Chronicles), and the homecoming of composer Tenpei Sato (Brigandine: Grand Edition, Disgaea 1 -5). While the game returns to familiar territory, this may be the first time many players have entered the world of Runersia, a continent created by the Rune God. Here, the appearance of six mana stone has allowed the inhabitants to forge weapons and warriors that can manipulate mana. Six Brigandine Countries of Runersia, each with conflicting ideals beliefs, histories, and faiths, are divided and do battle with these powers to expand their influence.

Players grabbing the game or downloading are set to experience hundreds of hours of immersive gameplay while they command more than 100 Rune Knights into battle across a hexagonal grid map and take on the turn-based combat that awaits. We don’t have details on the box set package or the final pricing but you can head over to the official Happinet Games website or check out the trailer for a glimpse of Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia.
