The latest edition of This Week in Call of Duty has been published and features a look at new features and items added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Most notably, players will find a pair of new maps added including one that’s a blast from the past.
Hardhat is an old favorite making its return from Modern Warfare 3. It is now part of the 24/7 playlist and features “close quarters, fast-paced, and frenetic combat”. Because of its design, it allows players with a number of different loadouts to take part and be successful.
Aisle 9 is considered a “Gunfight” map and it is featured in its own playlist “Clean up on Aisle 9”. The map is a 3v3 firefight and hosts “TDM, Kill Confirmed, Grind, and Domination” to allow for multiple ways to play on this tiny map.
The Warzone component of CoD:MW has been updated to bring in changes to Gulag weapons and to include a brand new item.
- players will now find SMGs and assault rifles on the Gulag map alongside shotguns and pistols
- the Armor Box is a new item similar to a Munitions Box that can be used by an entire team to restore armor
Warzone also has a new limited-time mode running called “Classic Battle Royale” that takes the fight back to basics without Buy Stations, Contracts, or Gulag. It’s one and done — die and you’re out.
