Call of Duty: Vanguard Blog Details Anti-Cheat Measures

Call of Duty: Vanguard

The Call of Duty: Vanguard site has been updated with a new blog post to lay out the efforts developers are implementing in an effort to curb cheating in the game. Activision‘s team has developed a new anti-cheat system called RICOCHET that will identify and deal engaged in cheating. Most notably, those who are found to be extreme or repeat offenders risk permanent suspension of all accounts across the franchise.

Extreme or repeated violations of the security policy – such as in-game cheating – may result in a permanent suspension of all accounts. Additionally, any attempt to hide, disguise or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your hardware devices may also result in a permanent suspension. Permanent suspensions for security infractions may now apply franchise-wide, including Call of Duty: Vanguard as well as any past, present, and future titles in the Call of Duty franchise.

In addition, the blog reveals more about what developers have planned for post-launch updates including:

  • improvements to RICOCHET to remove exploits related to XP earn rates and unlocks
  • working with the community to identify, report, and confirm cheaters
  • collection of information about cheating behavior
  • prioritization of security enforcement

Plans are underway to implement these anti-cheat features across the CoD franchise including in time for the next Warzone update that will bring the Pacific theater into play.
