Mojang developers took to the airwaves this weekend in Minecraft Live, the annual event to give fans a peek into the beloved franchise’s future. During the event, viewers were treated to a number of exciting things coming to the series that includes Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, and Minecraft Legends.
Developers took a few minutes to thank the community for its support over the years and for being part of the 2022 event. “We couldn’t have made this event successful without you! We want to thank the community, all the creators, press, and fans who’ve made our 11th Live possible. Give yourselves a round of applause!”
From there, it was a round of big announcements.
- Minecraft Dungeons will receive Season 3: Fauna Faire on on October 19th. Players will find new animal-themed skins and can get a special enchantment from the Enchantsmith merchant. This should make exploring Treetop Tangle that much easier to explore.
- Minecraft will receive the 1.20 update that “pushes for self-expression and creativity.” Players will find seven new default skins as well as new bamboo blocks, rafts, decorative hanging signs, and bookshelves. Most excitingly, CAMELS will hump their way into the game for the very first time!
- Players will be able to check out Minecraft Legends in spring 2023. This new action-strategy title comes with co-op gameplay. During the event, fans saw a live demo of the game alongside its cinematic trailer. (see below)
- An all-new Batman DLC is coming to the Marketplace. It includes the Batcave, Wayne Tower, and more. The DLC is set for release today!
- Players will have a new mob to fight thanks to the arrival of The Sniffer.
