Capcom reveals “Project Resistance”, a Resident Evil spinoff

It’s the Tokyo Game Show this week so there are a metric ton of trailers coming out. Capcom took some time out to showcase some new gameplay footage from its upcoming Resident Evil spin-off, Project Resistance.

The game is considered an asymmetric 5-player game where players “create their own survival horror experience”.  Similar to Dead by Daylight, four players will be working to escape the “experiment” and keeping a step ahead of the Mastermind. Using a series of security cameras, the Mastermind will be trying to get a glimpse of the escapees.

Xbox Insiders and PlayStation 4 players have been invited to sign up for a closed beta event. Registrations are being accepted through September 18th. The CBT will run from October 4-7, 2019. While not invited to the CBT, the game is also in development for PC.

About Project Resistance

The Mastermind plots a deadly course by wielding a strategic deck of cards to create dangerous obstacles for the Survivors, such as summoning vicious creatures, setting traps, manipulating the environment, and weaponizing security cameras. He or she can also directly control zombies in play. In addition, Mastermind players can even step into the trench coat of the towering, deadly Tyrant for the first time in franchise history. In turn, the Survivors must cooperatively work together as a team to fend off the Mastermind’s attacks and complete puzzle style mission objectives to escape the map before time runs out. Each Survivor possesses unique skills to help their team overcome the Mastermind’s challenges and survive the sinister experiment.
