Care Bears Arrive In The Sims

You read the headline. This Halloween, Grumpy, Share and Trick-Or-Sweet Bear arrive in SimTown.

EA and Care Bear licence owners Cloudco Entertainment have just confirmed that the huggable little critters called the Care Bears are heading to the world of The Sims. Unfortunately, or thankfully depending on your first impressions, this crossover event isn’t coming to the big screen outing of the sims world. Instead of joining the Star Wars Sims update, the Care Bears will arrive in The Sims Free Play, the mobile version of the Sims universe. Already live, and running until the 31 October, the crossover event includes two special events that allow mobile Sims gamers to combine outfits, build mode items and engage in a mix of in-game events.

“This is the first time in The Sims FreePlay’s 8-year history where the development team have integrated a special brand like Care Bears and created two bespoke live events,” says Joe Donoghye, general manager, EA Firemonkeys. “The results will allow our millions of players, plus new and nostalgic fans of Care Bears, to tap into different creative elements of Sims gameplay, no matter how they enjoy playing our game, whether they’re a stylist, builder or a storyteller.”

Across Android and iOS, players picking up this on the go life sim can lose themselves in nostalgia for the Care Bear toy line which originally appeared back in the 1980s and eventually spawned soft toys, a cartoon, and even a movie. The two time-limited events that are hitting SimTown will feature Share Bear, Grumpy Bear and Trick-Or-Sweet Bear, and you will be able to earn your very own Care Bears onesies, plush toys and Living Teddy Bears!

The addition of a ‘Care A Lot’ Community Center to SimTown will let you escape the hustle and bustle of a thriving Sim town and relax with the option to read a book, play video games or ping pong, take a nap, and much more. With a ton of treats to earn and all the nostalgia you can muster, this is either a treat or a trick. Check out more about the Care Bears coming to the Sims now over at the official Sims Free Play website.
