Citales Games has announced that Witch the Showdown is bringing its high speed action to players.
Due to land at Tokyo Game Show and then across the world, a wild set of witches are about to bring magic battles to screens. Described as a High-speed parry action, deck-building, rogue-like, Witch the Showdown brings together science fantasy and a classic tournament arc.
Developed by a Japanese indie outfit, the upcoming action does draw on plenty of anime tropes but adds it own twist. Plunged into a tournament battle, players find themselves in control of a magical girl. These powerful competitors can Witches parry enemy attacks at high speed all while fighting with cards and accumulating mana.
Dealing out cards in a real-time action card battle system challenges players to adapt to the hand they are dealt, while thinking tactically about the mana they are about to drain. Use accumulated mana at the right time to inflict the appropriate damage to your opponent and win the day. With a roguelike deck builder base, a ton of cards, and some very obvious anime inspiration, this isn’t your average Monster Train or a game of Gwent.
