During last weekend’s Tokyo Games Show, Obsidian Entertainment took some time to show off its forthcoming RPG, The Outer Worlds to fans attending the show. It seems that demo stations were available where this 20-minute footage was captured. You’ll want to take note of the fact that the player skips much of the dialog and is, in true “newb” fashion, not terribly good at combat. Still, it is an opportunity to see the early game in action and to check out some of the first steps that you’ll take when playing. Perhaps your inner newb will be just like this person!
The Outer Worlds is scheduled for release on October 25th for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The Switch version of the game will be released sometime after the others. You can learn more on the game’s official site.
About The Outer Worlds
The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division.
Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
