Torn Banner Studios and Tripwire Presents have announced that the Duel of the Fetes update has arrived in Chivalry 2, and boy, is it a doozy. Not only will knights have tons of new content to explore thanks to the addition of three new maps, but there will be unofficial server support, new character/weapon customizations, and much more. The update has been released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Developers, however, are cool and released a new trailer that offers viewers a look at much of what the patch brings to the table.
Duel of the Fetes features list
- Unofficial Server Support: The highly requested Unofficial Server support feature is now live! Players can now rent their own servers through Nitrado and customize them to their liking, whether it’s a large community event or a private match with friends. Players will find the “Rent A Server” button in-game at the bottom of the Server Browser screen, allowing them to begin the private server process.
- Skill-Based Team Balancing: Teams will now balance players with an algorithm derived from global rank before the start of a given match. Once balanced, players will be unable to switch teams unless automatically moved by the game to maintain team balancing parameters. All new modes from the Duel of the Fêtes update will have Skill Based Team Balancing enabled.
- New Maps:
- Frozen Wreck: Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All Map – Marooned Masons fight with cold steel on thin ice to survive their shipwreck in the desolate north. Avoid ice crumbling underfoot, or break it beneath enemies to send them plunging to an icy grave.
- Bazaar: Free-For-All Map – Spill blood on sand and silk as combatants skirmish in the Bazaar at Baudwin.
- Duel Yard: Free-For-All Map – The perfect place for knights of all skill levels to test their mettle, hone their skills, and prove their might in solo combat.
- Regional Selection: Players will now have the option to select their matchmaking region of preference. This option is available in the Game Options menu. Please note that matchmaking search time and latency may be impacted depending on the region selected. See the full patch notes for a list of supported regions.
- Campaign Pass: Play the Fête For All Campaign Pass at no extra cost to unlock free currency and armory items! There is no time limit, so players can earn these rewards at their own pace. The Campaign Pass can also be upgraded for 1000 Crowns in-game to unlock premium rewards.
- New Character and Weapon Customizations: Earn or purchase new cosmetic armors for the Archer, Knight, Footman and Vanguard classes alongside new skins for swords and siege crossbows. This update includes additional FFA-focused voice option bundles.
- Additional Bug Fixes, Quality of Life Enhancements, and Performance Improvements
