The third book in the Chronicles of the Avatar series, The Dawn of Yangchen, will let the fans of the Avatar universe experience the journey of the Air Nomad Avatar before Aang. Yangchen also serves as a predecessor to Kuruk and Kyoshi, and her adventures and reputation shaped their journeys as Avatars in their own rights.
Penned by F. C. Yee, the author of The Rise of Kyoshi and The Shadow of Kyoshi, The Dawn of Yangchen will arrive on July 19. Meanwhile, Gizmodo shared the first look at the book, presenting eager readers with a glimpse of the prologue and the first chapter. Check it out on the site!

Plagued by the voices of Avatars before her for as long as she can remember, Yangchen has not yet earned the respect felt for Avatar Szeto, her predecessor. Bin-Er is a city ruled by corrupt shang merchants who have become resentful of the mercurial Earth King and his whims.
