Prime Minister Wilfred Laurier is remembered for his strong advocacy for uniting French and English-speaking citizens under one national banner. 2K and Firaxis Games revealed that Prime Minister Wilfred Laurier will lead Canada in the ever so popular Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering storm. This is the second Expansion pack and will be available for Windows PC on February 14, 2019.
New features brought to Civilizations by Laurier:
- Four Faces of Peace: This ability prevents Canada from declaring surprise wars on opponents. This ability also prevents Canada from declaring war on City-States as well. Even better this ability also ensures that surprise wars cannot be declared against Canada.
- Ice Hockey Rink: This ability grants additional Appeal and Amenity including bonus Culture for each Snow, Snow Hill, Tundra, and Tundra Hill Title adjacent to each other. When you unlock Flight Technology you will receive Tourism from Culture after also unlocking Professional Sports Civic. Additionally, you will receive Production and Food if you build adjacent to Stadium buildings and in return will grant even more Culture. There is, of course, a limitation to this ability, only one ice hockey rink is allowed within a city border.
- Mountie: In this modern era a new unit will be available and has the ability to create a National Park. They receive combat bonuses when fighting near a National Park, and even more combat bonuses if near a National Park they own of course by Canada.
- The Last Best West: Tundra terrain is now available to be built on, this ability also reduces the cost of purchasing Snow and Tundra tiles by half. If you are worried about collecting resources have no fear as accumulating resources from Snow and Tundra tiles will produce twice as many resources compared to the normal yields.
