Conan Chop Chop Won’t Release This Year

Conan Chop Chop is the only stick figure adventure set in the world of Conan the Barbarian you’ll ever need but our unstoppable hero has suffered a setback until early 2020. Publisher Funcom has just confirmed that Chop Chop will not release until Q1 2020.

Originally unveiled during this year’s April E3 conference, Conan Chop Chop is unlike anything you’d expect from the Conan Franchise. Set in the same fantastical world as Conan Unconquered or Conan Exiles, the latest mythical saga features a few less glistening pecs and a lot more cutesy conquering. Immediately defined by its charming top-down visuals, Conan Chop Chop is a 1-4 player action-adventure that mixes in a range of roguelike elements.

More Time For More Features

After a hugely successful E3 demo, the teams behind the game are doubling down on the title and pushing back the start date in order to enhance the overall experience. They are also adding online multiplayer to this well-defined package. While this won’t impact the local co-op play, it should give the developer, Mighty Things, time to expand the world.

“One of the things we get to do with the extra time is expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer,“ says CEO of Mighty Things Phillip Mayes. “This has undoubtedly been THE most requested feature after we started showing off the game, so we’re very excited for the opportunity to bring that in.”

If you haven’t seen the E3 trailer or can’t quite fathom the idea of a cute Conan then you still have plenty of time left to find out more about the game, the range of god-like characters, and the threat posed by sorcerer Toth-Amon and Xaltotun. Just head over to the official Conan Chop Chop website for more details and when 2020 comes around you can venture forth into Koth on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
