Control Growing Again with “Awe” Expansion

505 Games and Remedy Entertainment have announced that the award-winning Control will be growing again with the Awe expansion. Awe is the second and final expansion to the game. The launch is planned for Thursday, August 27th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The announcement was made via a brand new trailer during yesterday’s Sony State of the Game event.

Those wishing to get a peek at what’s in store for Awe can do so on Thursday, August 13th during a special live stream event with Remedy’s Creative Director Sam Lake and Control Game Director Mikael Kasurinen. The event will take place on Twitch starting at 9:00 am Pacific / 12:00 pm Eastern. The pair will be showing off the first 15-minutes of gameplay from Awe as well as interview key team members about storytelling and much more.

AWE will take Bureau Director Jesse Faden to the Investigations Sector of the Oldest House, where the Federal Bureau of Control closely examines Altered World Events (AWE) – happenings where paranatural forces breach our world with sometimes grave consequences. The expansion, which becomes available following the completion of the seventh main mission (“The Face of the Enemy”) in the campaign, will require players to enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within this long-abandoned part of the Bureau. To reclaim the Investigations Sector from its clutches, Jesse will need to explore the Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls where Jesse learns more about the disappearance of the writer Alan Wake.

Digital Deluxe version owners on PS4 and Season Pass owners on all other platforms will automatically receive the expansion on launch day, August 27th. Those who wish to can still purchase the season pass for $24.99 that also includes the first expansion. The Awe expansion can be purchased separately for $14.99.
