Counter-Strike co-creator Jess Cliffe has been arrested by Seattle Police on the charge of sexual exploitation of a child. He is currently being held in the King County Jail awaiting a bail hearing sometime today. He was initially denied bail, but that has since changed. Police have yet to release a statement about the arrest.
Cliffe created the Counter-Strike mod for Half-Life in 1999. He was subsequently hired by Valve in 2003. Counter-Strike has been one of the most lucrative and popular multiplayer games since that time.
Valve, speaking to Kotaku, has confirmed that it is aware of the arrest and that Cliffe has been suspended pending further information. “We are still learning details of what actually happened. Reports suggest he has been arrested for a felony offence. As such, we have suspended his employment until we know more.” a representative wrote.

Messed up, right? Glad he’s been suspended, and hope if he’s found guilty it’s more than that.

Thankfully our justice system seems to work really well when it comes to pedophiles.
