Cooking Simulator, the gastro sim that doesn’t risk your weekly shop, is heading to the most unlikely larder in Cooking Simulator – Shelter.
Everybody’s got to eat right? Even the most monstrous survivors of a post apocalyptic wasteland are going to need a good meal now and then. Thankfully, with Cooking Simulator’s new Shelter DLC, you can take your virtual culinary class into a brand new desert scenario. After the fallout has settled and glowing creatures roam the earth, Cooking Simulator’s Shelter DLC asks players to seek some survival as the only decent chef left alive.
While developer Big Cheese Studios’ Cooking Simulator game normally opens up onto a highly polished, realistic kitchen equipped with all kinds of utensils and stands, the Shelter DLC lands wannabe chefs in an underground bunker in the middle of a barren wasteland. . While the skills might be the same, recipes in this harsh new world are slightly different. Glowing ingredients and previously unimaginable ingredients might give this new scenario something of a kick. All this talk of mutant meat and growing your own oversized spuds provides ample fodder for an inventive career mode with an immersive story, where you’ll use your resourcefulness and uncommon cooking skills to contact your long-lost family.
Cooking Simulator might sound like the oddest of endeavours and a Michelin star survival sim might be even odder, but this inventive new twist on the base game feels like it could be as unexpectedly entertaining as Gas Station Simulator or House Flipper. If you want to find out more about sauteing and simmering after the old world is dead, then check out the trailer above or head over to the official Steam Store Page to find out more about Cooking Simulator – Shelter before the end arrives on 19 November.
