Pearl Abyss, the developers of the upcoming open-world action-adventure Crimson Desert, shared via Twitter that the release of the game has been delayed. The team felt that they needed to dedicate more time to add new ideas for the deeper, more enriching game. The updated schedule will be shared at a later point.
“Thank you for your ongoing support. We wish you and your loved ones the best of health, and we’ll keep working hard so that we can meet all of you soon in Pywel” – the Crimson Desert team.

About Crimson Desert:
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game that tells the tale of mercenaries fighting for survival in the vast continent of Pywel. Crimson Desert depicts a realistic world full of unique characters and their many stories. For Pywel’s mercenaries, these stories are often ones of hardship as they fight to survive in this vast continent. Crimson Desert is the stage upon which the epic saga of those desperate mercenaries unfolds.
Pearl Abyss’ next flagship title was first announced at Korea’s largest game trade show “G-Star” last year and is currently being built on the company’s next-generation engine. Pearl Abyss aims to release Crimson Desert globally on console and PC.
- A War-Torn World: Gritty realism precedes aesthetic beauty in a vast, divided continent.
- The Struggle of All, for All: People fight to survive no matter how.
- Mercenaries Wanted: None can overcome one’s foes alone.
- Tread Carefully: Mythical beasts, maniacal rulers, and hostile mercenaries threaten all.
