Monumental developers have posted a new blog on the Crowfall official site with some bad news for players. According to the post, the ambitious crowd-funded MMO will be taken offline “for the time being” starting November 22, 2022. The team cites the need to “refocus our efforts from live operations to development” as the reason for servers going offline. At this time, it is unknown when — or if — the game will return to live service.
We’re going to use this time to map out the future of the game. We have yet to determine what that looks like, but we are investing in and rethinking every part of the game – from the core technology and tools to art, design, and gameplay. Nothing is off the table.
We’ll share the plan with the community as it shapes up.
From now through November 22nd, all items in the in-game shop are now free. Players can try out all of the buildings, mounts, and emotes without any charge.
The blog concludes with a list of things that are now already in force. This includes limited customer service, automatic refunds for purchases 90 days or more ago, all players now becoming VIPs, and more. Buddy Recruits and Refer-a-Friend programs are now unavailable.
