Crunchyroll Originals Unveil Eight Exclusive Anime

Crunchyroll, one of the internet’s biggest resources for online anime just announced a bunch of new slate of original anime productions.

Produced alongside respected publishers including Kodansha, animation studios such as MAPPA, and coming from Crunchyroll Studios, this first reveal is, we hope, the start of something different from the online anime archive. Building on Crunchyroll’s already huge library of more than 1,000 titles and 30,000 episodes available right now, the eight new titles bring anime adventurers across a wealth of genres, spanning adventure, fantasy, romance, historical fiction, and more. While it might be a bit more passive than button bashing through Jump Force,  the full list of upcoming anime below looks pretty impressive.

While this isn’t the first time that Crunchyroll has expanded its role beyond pressing play, it’s certainly one of the more significant experiments that the streaming platform has announced. With an annual awards ceremony, an anime games arm, and several fully funded anime already under its belt, the Crunchyroll Originals brand looks like it could be a big deal and full of some awesome anime.
