Developer Petoons started the Kickstarter campaign for their epic hand-drawn ratoidvania Curse of the Sea Rats seeking to make $16,824. In less than 9 hours backers pledged the entire sum and then some! Just a day in, the game’s currently at $34k pledged by over a thousand backers.
Curse of the Sea Rats packs all of the best features from the Metroidvania genre featuring beautiful 2D hand-drawn animation and 3D environments, combined with unique real-time combat mechanics, and of course, lots of rats!.
Choose your hero: 4 playable characters to play solo or local co-op. Choose between David Douglas, Buffalo Calf, Bussa, and Akane Yamakawa, each of whom has their own fighting styles.
Explore the island, battle diabolic creatures, and fight brutal bosses commanded by the evil pirate Flora Burn.
