Publisher PQube and developer Petoons Studio have shared the announcement trailer for the upcoming hand-drawn ratoidvania Curse of the Sea Rats.
It packs all of the best features from the Metroidvania genre featuring beautiful 2D hand-drawn animation and 3D environments, combined with unique real-time combat mechanics, and of course, lots of rats!
The events of the game take place in Ireland in the year 1777. Douglas, Buffalo, Akane, and Bussa, a group of prisoners, have been transformed into rats by a pirate witch, Flora Burn. Eager to regain their human bodies, our four unlikely heroes embark on a journey to hunt down the evil pirate witch and defeat her diabolic crew.
Curse of the Sea Rats is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Steam in 2021!
