Darkest Dungeon II Adds a Duo of Updates and a Stupendous Price Cut

Darkest Dungeon II gets more dark and more dungeons thanks to a DLC and a free Kingdoms Game Mode.

Developer Red Hook Studios has announced two updates for Darkest Dungeon II. The rogue-lite turn-based road trip of the dammed just got a whole lot bigger with the release of the Inhuman Bondage DLC and the free Kingdoms game mode. Inhuman Bondage is a long-teased update and the chance for players to get their hands on a new mini-region and playable hero, while the Kingdoms game mode kicks off the first of three themed adventure modules.

Kingdoms

Kingdoms is the beginning of another path for this title. The new game mode begins with inaugural adventure module called Hunger of the Beast Clan. Featuring a decidedly different way to play, the mode runs in parallel to the Confessions game mode and tasks dungeon runs with defending the realm from incursions by all-new enemy-factions. This time, rotting and ravenous beastmen flood the screen. You’ll need to upgrade and defend inns as you journey across a persistent map completing a quest to defeat the leader of the Beast Clan. Just the start of the journey, Kingdoms will expand as time progresses. Expect epic battles, new encounters and two more modules to take on.

Inhuman bondage DLC

The Inhuman Bondage DLC is available at the same time as the free update. This paid for DLC comes to stores with a whole new mini region to explore and a new hero character. As previously announced, the Abomination adds its own unique mechanics, trinkets, signature items, palettes, and weapon kits to the experience. For a premium purchase, you’ll also get a fully voice acted narrative, delving into the origin of this formidable character.

If you’re looking to take on an oozing threat in the Catacombs, then Darkest Dungeon II’s Kingdoms mode and Inhuman Bondage DLC is now available on PC and Mac via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. To celebrate the launch, Darkest Dungeon II will be discounted to 50% off on Steam and Epic Games Store until February 3rd, 2025. Darkest Dungeon II is also available via PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.
