Starcolt developers have created an interesting and somewhat unusual combination of genres with their forthcoming sim, Best Friend Forever. In the game, players can date and take part in dog-care, though devs are quick to point out that this is not at the same time! The team has announced that BFF will officially be launching on August 27th on PC and Nintendo Switch.
During the game, players move to Rainbow Bay to start a new life. After renting an apartment, what animal lover could resist adopting a dog? Once done, it’s up to savvy new owners to interact with, train, and care for their adopted dogs. To showcase gameplay, devs have released a new trailer that fills in the gaps between what players have experienced so far in early access and what they can expect when the game launches later this month.
Players raising their new companion will also have a chance to “meet, woo, and cherish the many cuties of Rainbow Bay’s thriving singles scene”.
Other features include:
- Fall in love with a diverse cast of local singles.
- Spend quality time with your dog to raise its stats and pass Paws Academy.
- Go everywhere with your best friend — your dog interacts with you and the narrative as it happens.
- Experience modern love at its finest! Be whoever you want, love whoever you want.
