David Tennant and Madeleine Maddie Add Their Accents To Ark: Genesis Part II

The new story-heavy direction for Ark: Survival Evolved just added a brand new trailer and a couple of familiar faces to Ark: Genesis: Part II.

Doctor Who fans might not see much of the shapeshifting Time Lord’s outer space adventures on PC or Console, and this isn’t news of an in game cross over. However, the voice of the Tenth Doctor is adding his Scottish tones to the latest Ark: Genesis expansion pack. Alongside Madeline Maddie (star of The Wheel of Time, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) the two will play a central role in the upcoming story-heavy expansion for Ark: Survival Evolved. Taking on the roles of the villainous Sir Edmund Rockwell and the in-game robotic AI companion HLN-A/Helena Walker, these two will feature throughout a range of dramatic new biomes, story missions, and exotic creatures that are all due to land in March 2021.

While the launch of the first Genesis expansion might have snuck by you, this new direction for Ark finds it picking less of a survival sandbox, or arena battler, mode. What might seem like a simple simulation set across Bog, Arctic, Ocean, Volcanic, and Lunar mini-maps sprawls into a wider campaign. In the second section of this expansion, players will end up on a gigantic colony ship travelling through deep space. It’s only with their Ark skills that anybody might be able to survive the confrontation between HLN-A and Sir Edmund. You’ll need to use everything at your disposal, form brain-controlling “Noglin” creatures to the skateboard-like Hoversail just to get through this testing time.

For fans of the Ark blueprint, the second paid expansion in the Genesis line is a mix of narrative that should hopefully further the story and provide a solid mix of storytelling and open-world survival. You can check out the latest trailer above and grab ARK: Genesis Part II on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 when it launches on March 2021. Xbox Series X and S owners will be able to pick up the base game with some next-gen enhancements as soon as you’ve managed to bag a console. Find out more at the official Ark website.
