Traega Entertainment has announced an upcoming open-world survival game called Dawn of Defiance. It has a twist, however, in that it is set in Ancient Greece. It is expected to launch into early access later in 2024 and will be available for PC via Epic Games Store and Steam.
Developers have released an announcement trailer that sets the stage. Viewers will get a peek at several types of buildings, see a smattering of crafting options, and be entertained by a few seconds of combat.
As with most survival, crafting games, players will begin with nothing and have to scrape their way to glory. Along the way, they’ll learn to construct a variety of ancient structures based on historical design. In addition, players will craft their way to some of Greece’s most iconic weapons and armor. Lastly, the gods will take note of a rising “star” and will send their denizens to stop the upstart from wresting control of Olympus.

- Awaken in an unknown world – You awaken on a forgotten shore. Starting from nothing, you must hunt and arm yourself against the dangers of the isles.
- Explore the ruins – Venture across the isles to explore landmarks, discover treasure, and face the Gods’ challenges. With each victory, grow in strength through new recipes and upgrades.
- Empower yourself – Select your weapon’s design, craft with any ingredient, and build impressive structures that rival the halls of Olympus.
- Defy the gods – Defeat the followers of the Gods, complete altar challenges, and prevail on the isles. Only then will you prove yourself in the name of Defiance.
- Journey together – Undertake the odyssey alone or recruit up to 3 friends to aid your journey at any time.
