Behaviour Interactive has revealed the first details about the next original chapter from its signature game, Dead by Daylight. Called “Portrait of a Murder”, the new content offers players a unique artistic journey filled with “fear, mystery, and dark surrealism”. This new chapter in DBD will arrive later in December along with the game’s release on the Epic Games Store.
“Portrait of a Murder is Dead by Daylight going back to its roots: an original story and universe, set in mystery, dark fantasy, and fear,” explains Dave Richard, Creative Director of Dead by Daylight. “The new characters are also unique and diverse, which is part of our DNA, and representative of our player base.”
Portrait of a Murder includes:
- a full original chapter
- a new Killer, The ARtist
- a new Survivor, Carmina Mora
- an all-new map
Carmina is a gifted artist who was saved from suicide by a murder of crows. Afterward, she began painting on street corners wherever she saw corruption. As her notoriety grew, she came to the attention of The Artist who abducted her with her friends and taken to an abandoned graveyard where she was horrifically maimed and she became a “grotesque vessel of vengeance”.
In the dust-choked expanse of the Chilean desert lies a graveyard abandoned by the living, battered by the passage of time: The Forsaken Boneyard. Only through violence was it once more given prominence, hosting the bloody murder of Carmina Mora and her friends. The new map also features a towering crypt that offers a roost for the crows to observe the trial, beady eyes gazing with fascination, never forgetting the day they fed greedily on the flesh of screaming men and women.
