The latest Destiny 2 blog has been posted to the Bungie site and, boy, is this one ever a good one. The team outlines a number of big changes coming to the game. A hint is provided in the first paragraph: “The balance of the game’s rewards is now where we want it to be. To be blunt, there isn’t enough pursuit out in the world. We’re going to fix it.”
So what does that mean? Let’s take a look.
- Transmogrification is coming to D2. This means players can turn all armor into “Universal Ornaments” that can be applied cosmetically to any other armor using in-game effort or silver. It is planned for release in Year 4.
- Each and every Season will see the release of an aspirational pursuit for armor.
- Rewards are being improved for Aspirational Activities such as dungeons, trials, and raids. These rewards include power, items, and vanity.
- In Season 12, all ships, ghost shells, sparrows, or armor ornaments that are Aspirational visuals are being removed from the Eververse
- New Armor will be added to core playlists and a new Pursuit Weapon will be added each Season.
- Changes are incoming to make it easier to earn Bright Dust. Bright Engrams are being buffed to be “more relevant than it is today”.
The blog also covers a number of other topics including the COVID-19 charity event, Guardian’s Heart, the Iron Finale, recent bug fixes and plans for future bug fixes, and the usual “Movie of the Week” fan project.
