Bungie and Destiny 2 are on hand at this year’s Gamescom in a big, big way. Now that the company has freed itself from Activision-Blizzard, it has a lot to say about upcoming content and much more.
Finishing Moves
First off the bat, the team took to the Xbox show to chat about the upcoming Shadowkeep expansion and the new “finishing moves” players will have access to when it launches. Shadowkeep, the paid expansion, and New Light, the free update for all D2 players, will launch on October 1st.

Finishing Moves are, as the name implies, special abilities that are accessed after a player has dealt enough damage. A special prompt will offer Guardians a unique finisher with a whole lot of flair.
In addition, viewers get a look at The Scarlet Keep, the Hunter Exotic helmet, and the Nightmare Hunt, a brand new feature coming to Destiny 2.
Shadowkeep Story Trailer
Next up, the team sent out a new trailer to reveal the backstory for the Shadowkeep expansion. While it doesn’t reveal a lot of information, it certainly offers up a few mysteries. The action takes place on the moon where Guardians will run into “nightmare versions” of a number of old enemies.
Season of the Undying
The final D2 trailer released by Bungie is one that showcases the Season of the Undying, the first seasonal DLC for Shadowkeep’s Annual Pass. The trailer offers players a look at the Vex and how they were created. They seem to be the center of Season of the Undying which will take the focus off the activities on the moon.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches on October 5th.
