Developer Blizzard Entertainment shared a new video dedicated to the upcoming aRPG Diablo IV. Titled Book of Lorath, it features a narrator that might be familiar to the Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls players. If you have ever wanted a deep dive into the lore of Sanctuary, the Eternal Conflict, the Burning Hells, the High Heavens, and more, this is a great place to get started. The first video in the series starts at the beginning: with Creation.

If you’d like to know the story taking place closer to the events of the game, you are in luck. Previously the developers have shared another trailer that explained how Diablo IV serves as a new saga of Sanctuary. The events of the game take place 50 years after The Reaper of Souls – the major expansion to Diablo III that told the story of Archangel Malthael and his crusade against the mortals of Sanctuary. The world has not yet totally healed from that tragedy.
And it is in this fragile and broken state that Inarius and Lilith, the father and mother of Sanctuary and the Nephilim respectively, return. And that return may not mean the best for humanity, despite the distant familial connection. The two will once again cross paths, and what was built is now at risk of destruction.
