The previous entries into Diablo IV lore series Book of Lorath introduced viewers to the history of Sanctuary from the moment of the universe’s creation through the events of Diablo Immortal. However, these stories were done in a factual and removed way with the aim to bring players up to speed.
The latest tale – The End of Days – holds much more personal angle and is dedicated to Deckard Cain and his niece Leah. It offers an in-depth look at the events of Diablo 3 through the Reaper of Souls. If you have wanted to recall how it is that Tyrael found himself back in Sanctuary or what happened to Cain and Leah, there is no better to go about it. Short, of course, of replaying the whole game again.
“The aftermath of Malthael’s use of the Black Soulstone saw Tyrael gone from Sanctuary and countless dead. What happened to Diablo remains a mystery that haunts me. I chose solitude and ale over the futile efforts to bring the light back into our world…
But there times, such as this, when I feel hope struggling to take root once more. But to hope for salvation while doing nothing to attain it brings only ruin. I have learned this many times over: judge a person by their actions, not their words.”
