Yacht Club Games has just announced a brand new twist in the Shovel Knight Saga. A new action-packed puzzle adventure called Shovel knight Pocket Dungeon will launch in winter 2021
Due to break ground on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC later this year, the latest Shovel Knight title is a slightly different experience than you might remember. Like the upcoming Shovel Knight Dig, this takes a slight step away from the traditional RPG stylings of the previous few Shovel Knight titles. This time, the team behind this off the wall noble coordinated their efforts with Vine to produce a never-before-seen dungeon-crawling puzzle game mashup. S A 2D puzzle crawler, this new quest joins the Puzzle Knight as shovelling commences through scores of foes, new equipment, and boss battles both familiar and new.
Instead of the long winding roads and platforming action, players are more likely to find falling blocks and match 3 mayhem unfolding in the very same dungeons that you’re trying to raid. Think a little bit of Crypt of the NecroDancer or Cadence of Hyrule but swap in rhythms for falling blocks. Alongside the new mechanics, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon will bring plenty of new friends and foes to the fight, including fellow gamers. During versus mode, players can take on real life competition in an action-packed local-co-op. Carefully select from a colorful cast of characters, choose different item/stage limitations, and battle it out with friends! Each character has its own unique playstyle and move set so choose carefully! In addition, this instalment in the Shovel Knight saga adds a daily challenge mode as well as Amibo support for those who’ve managed to grab a Shovel Knight on Switch.
