Have a look at the new Open beta trailer for Wargaming’s New Mech Shooter: Steel Hunters!
Wargaming is done treading a familiar path. The studio behind the humungous World of Tanks stomped onto screens during last night’s Game Awards with a trailer for a new Mmech adventure. The move to a new format and a brand new IP appeared as a short but brutal clash of steel and fire, revealing what awaits.
Aside from my own impulse to immediately get in the freaking robot, the brand-new IP looks like a blast for anybody else looking to shake up the battlefield. The new trailer teased a range of formidable mechanical giants, called Hunters. These powerful weapons each come with their distinct playstyle, unique ability kits, and progression systems. A mix of close-quarters melee options, energy attacks, and big guns provide a range of options and tactical direction in a clash to reach an extraction point.
Under the chrome-plated chaos, this mix of armored core-inspired vehicles and transformitive options is a fairly familiar PvPvE battle royale concept. Where Wargaming is out to mix things up is a mix of unique builds, objectives, and strategic cooperation to win over opponents. There’s no doubt that the World of Tanks legacy should make this a free-to-play worth trying.
