PC and Mobile players can indulge in the enchanting new Teamfight Tactics: Magic N’ Mayhem update right now
Riot’s awesome auto battler launched an update that brought something special to the arena last night. The new Magic N’ Mayhem update is now globally available across PC and Mobile, transporting players to the into the Magitorium, where new challenges and rewards await.
This free update is the 12th major in game transformation to hit screens since the initial launch. It finds our little legends dropped into a new castle where magic and imagination mix. New champions come to the fore, including Norra, Briar, and Smolder. Each have their own abilities to turn the tide of any brawl, from magical swirling bouncy balls to Smolder ‘s more incendiary attacks. Expect to see the return of other champions too, including fan favorite Milo. Expect to see plenty of trinkets being lobbed around the arena during this season.
Charms will bring a new mechanic to combat too. Designed to be single use spells, they are purchased from every other shop and add a ton of new options. They do take up one unit slot, but add enhance combat power, economy, providing disruptions, amplifying traits, and more! Augments are also in good supply, with 140 new versions included. Over 100 variations of Charms, a roster of 60 League of Legends champions, 27 traits, 3 new characters, and more than 140 Augments are just the start of the content drop.
Rewards
It’s all about the loot, and it’s packed! A new arena cosmetic, called Le Bunny Bonbon Bistro provides a relaxed caffe vibe, while four new Chibi champions are now available to earn, New species of Tacticians are available too, while Wild Rift Player’s might recognize the new Chrono trait skin line.
Competition
The new update comes just ahead of the next TFT Open tournament, taking place in Macao from December 13. There will be 512 spots available in the open, with players able to complete for a chance to grab a slither of the $300K prize pool and earn the title of TFT Macao Open Champion. If you’re looking to brush up before fighting for a place, or just grabbing a pass, then the head over to the official website to run through all the details but do it ahead of the cut off date for snapshot submission on 2 September. For those that haven’t had the chance to pick up Teamfight Tactics, this League inspired auto battler is a step away from the intense action of the Wild Rift or League of legends. Much like the more tactically inclined Runeterra card battler, this takes a different pace and a more inviting vibe to the League series with an auto battler that is one of the more accessible ways to play League across PC and mobile.
