Don’t Press Buy Now, Japan Resumes Switch Shipments This Week

Switch Resume Shipments

If you’ve been scrambling around the internet trying to find a full-sized Switch, hang on a bit longer. Nintendo Japan has announced its plans to resume shipping the console later this week.

Between the stay at home lockdown and the recent release of Animal Crossing, there aren’t many Nintendo Switched to be found out in the wild. Check online auction site or the local Craiglist equivalent and scalpers are hard at work while the rest of us just need an opportunity to get those sweet turnips sold. Let’s face it, the Nintendo Switch is in hot demand right now.

With shipments of the hybrid console on hiatus, it’s been tough to find of late but now, Nintendo Japan has announced that it is ready to push forward with shipments. The full-sized Nintendo Switch and the miniature Nintendo Switch Lite consoles are due to begin distribution in the next few days. The highly sought after Animal Crossing new Horizons version of the Switch system is expected to get back to normal and start shipping a little later in April. While this might not get quick enough for anybody who is counting the days until their own getaway island, it does mean that Nintendo should start taking pre-orders on the more conventional models any moment now. Animal Crossing fans will have to wait until April 27th to place that order.

It’s really no surprise that with limited supply, the Nintendo Switch is one of the hottest pieces of tech on the market right now. Despite its diminutive processing power, the console has already notched up over 52 million sales since it first hit the gaming scene in 2017. This made it one of the fastest-selling consoles of all time and it has carved out a niche in many of our backpacks. If you want to pre-order a Switch then don’t give in to the inflated grey market, just head over to the Nintendo site now to keep an eye on those pre-order sales as Switch Shipments resume.
