Dr. Mario World is Out on iOS and Android

Dr. Mario

Dr. Mario will see you now. Nintendo’s brand new puzzle game is out now across Android and iOS devices and we can’t wait to play it.

While Nintendo Switch owners are busy busting blocks in Tetris 99, the rest of us can book an appointment to play Dr. Mario World from today. The modern update of Nintendo’s classic puzzler officially launched today and you can already get in and make your diagnosis. Initially a game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Dr. Mario took the idea of match-three puzzle mechanics and stretched it out into an inventive color match system that challenged players to wipe out viruses fro their TV screen. Now, the free-to-play mobile update of this title takes the classic virus hunting ideas and puts them in your hand.

Sneaking out a day early in some regions, this mobile title features a range of recognizable Nintendo characters, including Dr. Mario, Dr. Peach, Dr. Bowser, and others. Characters and their lab assistants are more than a cosmetic lab coat too. Every avatar carries their own unique power-up, making for a different playthrough on every one of the hundreds of stages. If that all sounds like an overwhelming epidemic then you are not alone in your quest to match viruses out of existence. Players are able to help each other through stage modes by gifting stamina giving hearts. Friendly competition is also available as players go head to head in versus mode. With a range of modes, a ton of stages, and an arsenal of Nintendo characters available Dr. Mario sounds like medicine I’d happily take.

If you’re not ready to make an appointment yet, keep an eye out for our review. Otherwise, Dr. Mario World is out now on the iOS App Store and Android Play Store. You’ll find it is free to play with in-game purchases available.
