Developer Bioware revealed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the latest project of the studio, will receive its first patch later this week, arriving on all platforms. This patch will include some bug fixes, minor balance changes, and some crash mitigations.
Some of the fixes include:
- Fixed an issue where some customizations were not applied to the Inquisitor correctly in one of the ending scenes.
- Fixed an issue where DLSS options could end up “grayed-out” on a 40-series Nvidia GPU.
- Fixed an issue that caused Companion Skill Points to reset.
Bioware’s John Epler participated in an interview with RollingStone to shed some light on all things Thedas. In particular, he noted that the studio currently has no plans for the DLC to continue or expand the game’s story. Sadly, he also noted that the older games in the series are unlikely to get the similar treatment to its sci-fi cousin, Mass Effect.
The Mass Effect trilogy has been remastered and released as the new, shiny Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. However, older Dragon Age games are a trickier deal due to using the studio’s Eclipse engine:
“I think I’m one of about maybe 20 people left at BioWare who’s actually used Eclipse. It’s something that’s not going to be as easy as Mass Effect, but we do love the original games. Never say never, I guess that’s what it comes down to.”
Meanwhile, the Veilguard community is also banding over at Nexus to share fan-created mods. At the moment, the most popular addons include performance enhancers, reshades, and various sliders/save files for players’ Rooks.
