Dread Nautical Sets Sail For Horror April 2020

Dread Nautical is coming to PC and Console next month and this horror themed strategy RPG is set to shiver yer timbers.

Firmly docked in Zen Studio’s port, Dread Nautical4 is a different twist on the traditional horror that is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store on April 29, 2020. Based on a series of roguelike encounters mixed with turn based RPG elements, this luxury cruise all goes to hell on the high seas once a supernatural force gets involved.

That Sinking Feeling

As things start to go south, malevolent intruders of the ectoplasmic type aim to wipe out the passengers on a cruise liner that has wandered into an unfortunate situation. Guests, crew, anybody in their path is in danger and it is up to players to put their thinking caps on and escape the horror that is busy flooding the ship. Players will pick one of four unique characters and traverse the ship. Twenty randomly generated decks of grueling and intense suspense await as survivors attempt to gather supplies and just hand on long enough to escape. Along with whatever they scavenge, each player and 11 other in-game survivors must work together to take on the eerie problems that await them

“The release of Dread Nautical to consoles and PC speaks to Zen Studios’ pursuit of developing a broad range of well-polished games to redefine our studio as more than just Pinball Wizards. We’re proud of everything we’ve brought to the pinball space, but are ready to take on new challenges in the broader gaming space”, says Mel Kirk, Vice President of Publishing. “More importantly, we are incredibly excited to allow our dev teams the freedom to create games they want to play, including titles in the turn-based RPG genre like Operencia: The Stolen Sun and CastleStorm II.”

Dread Nautical looks like an interesting thematic take on the horror genre and with the right narrative, it could be about the only high seas getaway many of us will see for some time. You can check out the trailer or head over to the official website for more information on Dread Nautical.
