Behaviour Interactive is pulling out all the stops for Dead by Daylight’s eighth anniversary by bringing new features and new collabs into the game. Two of the world’s most revered franchises are part of the celebration: Dungeons & Dragons and Castlevania. That’s just the beginning, too. Those are the first two of a whopping six new chapters set for release in the coming year.
In addition to the collabs, players can look forward to the long-awaited 2v8 Mode, a new game called What the Fog, The Casting of Frank Stone, and Project T.
What’s in store for DbD?
- D&D players will immediately recognize the iconic Vecna. He will be known in the game as The Lich and will join the Killers’ team. The Bard, Aestri Yazar, is a new Survivor. The Forgotten Ruins map will take players to a mysterious dungeon said to be packed with easter eggs. Players who have long loved D&D will be thrilled to find loot, magical items, and even dice rolls included as part of the collab.
- 2v8 Mode is a new gameplay experience that will shake up the meta. Two Killers will face off against eight Survivors on a much larger map. Adjustments are being made, including replacing Perks with “what essentially amounts to a class system.” There will be Cages instead of Hooks as well. The team plans to showcase more about 2v8 in a live stream scheduled for July.
- What the Fog is already out and is a new 2-person co-op roguelite game. Players take on the role of Dwight, Claudette, or Feng Min and try to survive a hostile world. They’ll have to run, jump, and shoot their way through a host of deadly monsters and bosses.
- Project T will be a session-based PvE horror shooter. Those who are looking to provide assistance to the dev team can join the Insider Program for exclusive chances to do so.
- Lastly, a new trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone was released with hints about the branching narrative.
