10tons has proudly revealed Dysmantle, an open world action RPG in development, scheduled for release later this year. The events of the game take place on a dystopian island where time seems to have stopped somewhere between the 70s and 90s after a grim calamity has taken place. The story starts as the protagonist ascends from his underground shelter and finds himself all alone and left behind on the island. He needs to unravel the mysteries and find the means to escape the wretched place.
Lead Developer Tero describes the game as follows:
“We’re mixing together what we think are the tastiest parts of the latest Zelda, Stardew Valley, Subnautica, Steamworld Dig, and Dark Souls, and brewing it into a uniquely satisfying experience you’ve never played before”

- Fight or flight? The world after the end is inhabited by nasty creatures. Something vile has affected most of the wildlife and former human inhabitants of the island — turning them into aggressive beast-like creatures. Slay them and collect their loot – or run away and come back when you’re stronger. Fight using various melee and ranged weapons. Create traps and lure monsters in. Do whatever it takes.
- Thrive – never starve! You will not be fighting just to maintain the status quo. This IS NOT a game about starving. You won’t be constantly looking for a tasty cockroach to fill your over-metabolic stomach while waiting for the unavoidable bliss that is death. You will never die of hunger. You will get more powerful, and unlock permanent upgrades. The world is a dangerous place, and you may take a few steps back once in a while, but eventually you will thrive.
