EA Play for XBox Game Pass for PC Delayed to 2021

EA Play

The XBox team has some bad news for XBox Game Pass for PC owners who’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of EA Play. The two services were set for a merger this month greatly expanding the XBGP. However, the team has announced that the integration of the two will be delayed until 2021.

Unfortunately, what had been a celebratory post is now one asking for a little more patience. We made the decision to delay until 2021 the release of EA Play on PC as part of the XBox Game Pass for PC and Ultimate memberships.

The post doesn’t reveal the reasons behind the delay other than to state the very generic excuse that developers “need more time to provide the Xbox Game Pass experience”.  Hopefully, 2021 means early in the year and not too far down the road. EAP brings a number of great games to the already amazing Xbox Game Pass including Star Wars: Squadrons, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Sims, Apex Legends, and Jedi: Fallen Order.

This news only affects the PC version of the Xbox Game Pass. The integration of EAP and XBGP is already in force for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
