EA is expanding its sports games reach with today’s announcement of EA Sports PGA Tour, a “next-gen golf game” that leans heavily into the PGA Tour. The game is currently in development using EA’s Frostbyte Engine and is using next-gen technology for “approachable, dynamic gameplay”. Unfortunately, press information did not reveal platforms or release information but developers are promising that more will be revealed over the coming weeks and months.

PGA Tour aims to bring a virtual experience to players around the world with “the sights, sounds, and thrills of the Tour including The Players Championship, FedExCup Playoffs, and more unforgettable events”. Gameplay will center on some of the most famous courses in the world as well as names recognized by sports fans. Players will be able to play against or as some of the best players on the Tour.

“We’ve partnered with EA SPORTS to bring immersive golf video game experiences to fans of all ages for years,” said Len Brown, PGA TOUR Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President Licensing and Merchandising. “We are thrilled to continue working with EA SPORTS on its golf franchise to authentically represent the PGA TOUR for the next generation. The newest game will give golf fans another way to experience their favorite sport, or to discover their passion for it.”
