D3Publisher has announced that Earth Defense Force 5 is now available for PC via Steam! For the next week, EDF5 will be available for 20% off its normal price. You can score a copy for $48 before it goes back up to $59.99.
EDF5 is the latest game in the long-running series. The first Earth Defense Force game made its debut in 2003 and the latest game continues its gameplay heritage. It is a relentless third person “wave shooter game” that challenges even the toughest veteran. It features a wide array of unique classes, weapons, and loadout combinations. This is all packed in “charming B-movie dialogue and settings with cities under siege by giant, out of the world creatures”.
Players will find over a hundred missions that can be played across five difficulties. There are over a thousand weapons and armaments that can be unlocked along the way and four separate and unique classes to master. Classes include Ranger, Wing Diver, Fencer, and Air Raider. Lastly, players can enjoy offline couch co-op or take the battle online with up to four friends.
EDF5 has been available on PlayStation 4 since last December, but today’s release marks the first time it’s been out for PC. The PS4 version has been successful with a 72 average score over at Metacritic.
