Uk Developer Frontier, also known for their zoo styled sims, just dropped the news that Elite Dangerous will launch into a whole new world of exploration when the latest expansion to their online multiplayer lands in early 2021. Elite Dangerous: Odyssey isn’t just a brand new bit of content for players to enjoy but looks set to change the way that gamers explore the Elite universe.
The newest adventure introduces the ability for explorers to touch down on strange new worlds, powered by stunning new tech, and explore with unrestricted freedom from a first-person, feet-on-the-ground perspective. Getting out of the cockpit, Odyssey will allow players to do more than just take a look at each new hunk of rock. Worlds inhabited by NPCs will provide plenty of content for your journey and players can even forge their own path to glory. Take on a diplomatic mission to quell dissent, stealthily make your way to objectives, or just run and gun. It’s your choice. Whatever you decide to do, put plenty of thought into your tactics and communicate with your squad to ensure you’ve got the right tools and plans for the right job.

The announcement of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey comes after the game finally received fleet carriers and Frontier spent a significant amount of time working through a range of updates and quality of life improvements for the title. It’s been some time since the Beyond season dropped in 2018. Now, the Odyssey expansion looks set to completely change the Elite Dangerous universe once more.
