Just previous week Epic was swinging the ban hammer around in Fortnite Battle Royale. The company has reported banning thousands of cheating players and doesn’t intend to stop at that. The team is very adamant in their approach to the situation:
Let’s be straight for a second, nobody likes playing with cheaters. Not you, not me. Nobody. We play PvP games like Fortnite Battle Royale for their competitive integrity. That feeling of outshooting somebody in an intense standoff and snagging that Victory Royale! And then there are cheaters, the 360-spin instant headshot, we all know so well.
PCGamesN reports that Epic Games is now going after two players named Vraspir and Broom for infringing the company’s copyrights. Both users are associated with a cheat site as staff members
Defendant’s cheating, and his inducing and enabling of others to cheat, is ruining the game playing experience of players who do not cheat. The software that Defendant uses to cheat infringes Epic’s copyrights in the game and breaches the terms of the agreements to which Defendant agreed in order to have access to the game.
Epic has also stated that they will be constantly working against both the cheating players AND the cheat providers, and, apparently, this is just the first step.
In other Fortnite-related news, the game has also surpassed 10 Million players! To celebrate the occasion, the team has released some neat infographics showing the game’s accomplishments in a numerical way.
