If you’ve been wanting to play EVE Valkyrie but didn’t have a VR headset, we have good news. CCP Games will be releasing a non-VR version of the game called Warzone on September 26th. But wait! That’s not all!
EVE Valkyrie & its September update
The update is going to bring much more to the game than just a non-VR version. Players will be able to take control of a number of “next generation ships” including ships specialized for specific roles. These roles include assault, shotgun, sniper and more. In addition, using the new mod-based progression system, players will be able to further customize their ships to suit their best play style. Devs are also tossing in a few new Ultra abilities to ensure the best play possible.
In addition, a pair of new maps will come with the update. Fleet is a Sisters of EVE station getting ready to go to war. Outpost is a “remote Drifter structure that holds the key to new technologies”.
Other features of the September update include:
- mouse / keyboard support with full keybind options
- Capsule based reward system with randomized loot
- Extraction – a capture the flag style game mode
- updated / improved cockpit interiors and HUD
- Rank cap to increase to 60
We’ve long held the belief that cross play between PC and console is essential for building our community and sharing the awesome gameplay we’ve been refining since our launch in March 2016. The ambitious new goal of delivering an experience that can now be played across VR and non-VR is now in sight. It’s entirely up to you how you play EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone, either in or out of virtual reality. With the expansion, you’ll still have access to all the content from our five major game updates since launch. All our pilots will be flying and dying together on the same servers, same battles… same game.
