If you didn’t catch the VR Games Showcase last night then you’re in for a treat. Agent 47 is coming to PS VR2, and IO Interactive gave us all a closer look at the action of assassination that will be pumped straight into your eyeballs on 27 March 20225. In just two weeks time players with a Sony VR headset and PlayStation 5 console will be able to take on the role of the iconic operative and find ingenious ways to get the jobs done, whether that s a gun, soda can, or banana peel.
The new trailer, above, is a look at the mix of stealth gameplay, adaptable weapon choices, and explosive solutions you can choose. Whether that’s knocking out a guard with a slippery fruit peel or abusing a baseball bat. It also shows off one of the campaign’s 22 unique locations and variety of the immersive VR-specific mechanics. Watch out as you take on a motorsport event, climb to a vantage point, and take the shot.
If every day objects aren’t your thing then players can dual-wield an arsenal of over 100 different weapons and intuitively perform key movements with full ambidexterity such as reloading, holstering, aiming sniper rifles, and stealing disguises. All a little more like you’d expect. Combine this gameplay with the 4K HDR display of PS VR2 and adaptive trigger support, and a broad range of platform specific developments and this should be an engaging and impressive looking job.
Players who already own Hitman World of Assassination on PlayStation 5 can access an upgrade pack to the PS VR2 content, the Hitman World of Assassination – VR Access, for $9.99, €9.99, or £8.99.
