Fallout 76 Devs Tease the Addition of Pets

Fallout 76 crossplay

Now that human NPCs are finally available in Fallout 76 — even though some of them are jerks — developers are looking ahead and possibly tackling one of the game’s other most-requested features, namely the addition of pets.

During a recent “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) on Reddit, Project Lead Jeff Gardiner was asked about pets. He jokingly answered, “Edible ones?” at first but then backtracked by saying, “I kid!” However, he did go on to say, “Now that we have our companions system in the game, we are looking to add pets as well.” Gardiner did not provide any further details or any sort of timeline when pets might be added to the game, but it’s good news for the community nonetheless.

The AMA tackled a number of subjects across a couple of dozen questions. Topics included an upcoming roadmap, quality of life improvements, rebalancing efforts, the addition of PERK loadouts, the addition of legendary PERKs, and many more. It’s definitely worth heading to the compilation thread to take a look.

In addition to the above, the Fallout 76 official site has been updated to let players know that the Private Test Server is making a reappearance:

“We would like to re-open the PTS starting next Thursday, April 30, so that we can get lots of early community feedback for our next update, which is currently planned for May. This will provide a couple of weeks of playtesting time so that those of you who are interested can share your thoughts and bug reports with us before the patch goes live. As with Wastelanders, your participation will help us get a head start on any needed improvements or fixes.”
