Fallout 76 looks ahead to 2020 with some big QoL changes

Fallout 76

The Fallout 76 site has been updated with a good long look at what players can expect in 2020 as the game rolls into its second full year. Most notably, a number of big quality of life improvements are coming along. While the blog doesn’t include any information about the addition of the Wastelander NPCs, the team does say that more information is coming soon.

So what QoL changes are incoming? Let’s take a look.

First off, a new Public Test Server, or PTS, will be added in 2020. This will give players a chance to play and provide feedback to the dev team about upcoming patches before they hit live servers.

Perk Loadouts are also coming after the first of the year. As a work in progress, however, the team isn’t ready to share many details yet.

Multi-factor Authentication will give players another layer of security. This will be something that will be deployed to all of Bethesda’s games and devs are hoping to deploy MFA prior to the end of 2019.

The Legendary Player system was originally planned to come out this year. However, devs ran into snags with other systems that required more of their attention. Look for it in Q1 2020

Social Menu Fixes will address the nagging issue of players not being able to send and accept friend invites. There are also issues with other platforms’ menus as well that will be addressed. The PC fix to the friends’ list problem should be coming along shortly.

Improvements to Public Events will address community feedback about the length of the events. “We are also planning a second phase of Public Event improvements that will bring additional cooldown adjustments, performance-based loot, and remove the need to tag legendary event enemies to claim their loot.” Look for this in early 2020.

Meat Week Returns & Challenge 2

Lastly, the team informed readers that Meat Week is making a return. During the recent Clear the Skies Challenge, players took down over 650,000 Scorchbeasts and “earned a second helping of Meat Week for a full seven days”. Get cookin’!

The Scorched is the second challenge for players now that Clear the Skies has ended. Beginning October 1st, players are charged with killing Scorched. At certain benchmarks, rewards will be handed out with the ultimate goal to take our 8 million Scorched to unlock a Legendary Sale Event from October 17-21.
