Fantasy Strike Hits Out Today on PC and Console

Fantasy Strike is out today for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux. Developed by Sirlin Games, it brings the action of complex fighting games to everyone.

Originally released on Steam Early Access back in 2017, today marks the culmination of all the effort behind this brand new beat em up. Coming out of Early Access and making its way onto the battlefield for a real fight, Sirlin Game’s new title looks like it is going to cause quite the upset. Helmed by Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix lead designer David Sirlin, aims to bring fighting games to everyone.

Getting Ready to Rumble

After years of development the fighter pairs down much of the complex finger bashing of games like Mortal Kombat, instead restricting moves to a few simple triggers. Combos are built up as sequences of simple button bashes, depending on your previous actions. Rather than make for a mundane clone of better games, Fantasy Strike aims to focus minds on strategy and situational awareness. Players with superb skill will still be able to juggle the odd opponent if they know when to kick off the right combo.

Along with this new approach to combat, Fantasy Strike still includes many of the features you’d expect from a top tier fighting game. Some awesome looking graphics, slick response times, and a varied character roster are all included. 10 characters make it to the arena. Zoners, rushdown, and grapplers allow players to take a very different approach to beating their opponents.

Players who want something more from their gaming experience will find plenty to do too. Solo play, Boss Rush, and online play are just some of the modes available on launch. If you aren’t sure this is for you or just want more details before picking up a keyboard, mouse, or controller then our own review drops later today. Keep an eye out for more or check out the details on the game’s official website now.
